Convention co-chairman Walter Krueger welcomes attendees to a private party at his home in Homer Glen. Plenty of food and soft drinks, but please BYOB. Note that this a private residence; it it not fully accessible to those with mobility limitations. Parents are expected to supervise their own children.

Join us for an afternoon of animated Oz films in the lower-level auditorium at the Joliet Area Historical Museum.

Our special guest, historian and biographer for Rankin/Bass Productions Rick Goldschmidt, will talk about that company's role in the animation of Oz.

David Kelleher and Walter Krueger will present toys based on animated Oz productions; one case of animated Oz toys will be on display at the museum.

From Denslow to Adrew Lloyd Webber we will ease on down the road with a dozen different ways Dorothy has been presented through the years. Join us as we bring each of these different Dorothys to life on the convention stage.

The New Oz Museum, a Virtual Walk Through

Walter Krueger takes us on a virtual tour of his newly opened Oz museum.

Lux presents Hollywood! Welcome the cast from Those Thrilling Days of YesteryearTTDYlogogreen as they recreate the famous Lux Radio Theatre 1950 radio broadcast of The Wizard of Oz. The hour-long Christmas show originally starred Judy Garland in her legendary role as Dorothy. For our program, a 13-member professional company will take us behind the scenes of the golden age of radio to relive the historic broadcast.  

Adam Selzer on Baum's Oz films with the Selig Polyscope Company of Chicago, and a screening of the Selig 1910 Wizard of Oz film with live musical accompanyment.

Spend your afternoon at the Midwest Oz Fest, a family-friendly public Oz festival being held for the third year in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Oz History Tour of Chicago (tickets sold separately; limit 30)

We will head to downtown Chicago to see sites associated with Baum, Denslow, the Oz publishers and other Oz events. We'll take a walking tour of Michigan Avenue, visit to the American Writers Musuem, ride a trolley around the Loop and West Side and end at the site of the 1893 Columbian Exposition for a "Walk in the White City."
